Focus.

Focus.

It all seems so simple. All we all need is some focus to iron out our respective problems. One of the first things I happen to be regaled with from the radio waves this am is the obscene amount of food we waste. Naturally it is not just in this country but on a wide wide  scale and not just food but water.

Pack up or Pick up.

Pack up or Pick up.

Have managed at long last to get something down with which some folks might find a little more interesting than what I have been attempting in the past few weeks. There must be a regard and constructive hope for the future.

Perhaps the future really does belong to those who have the courage and audacity to seize the moment and stamp their personality on there on. That is before the herd get a chance to muddy the waters with their version of a indifferent world.

Take Over Bid?

Take Over Bid?

It looks to me as though there has been a take over bid in my absence on other matters.

Well this is where the fight back begins. Just who is SNAP and where the hell do they get off taking over my affairs without so much as a by your leave? That is of course par for the game these days it might seem to some but don't let the buggers get away with it. Otherwise the next thing you know you won't have a fig leaf to cover your dignity.

Well I cannot say it has been a very enlightening period of my life. But then all you fellow suffers and trauma types battling with the BIG C, have good cause for complaint. Or have you? Yes I agree there does seem to be much of IT about it might appear. In fact I think there must be a great many good laughs floating about on the breeze if you only have time to pick them out and put the correct aspect on them. And that of course is the trouble. Getting the correct aspect.

Just what is the Correct Aspect? Is it the Jokey Sod , who you can never pin down and doesn't take anything seriously? Always good for a laugh, but sometimes hard when it is at you expense. Perhaps the : Smart-Arse is more to your taste. Always quick with a put down but not really interested in carrying you or the project forward, merely there to score the points.

Hard work never killed anybody they say, but it can't half ruin the nail varnish, I notice.

Take my little adventures last Thursday. Fed up to the back teeth with tearing lumps off my dear wife. This sort of thing does happen at times when you have been married over fifty years and suddenly run out of imagination, ideas and talent. And more specifically patience. Your BIG IDEA has disappeared down the plug hole without  even a decent gurgle to announce its departure.

So there I was: sprawled out just inside Boots the Chemist shop, having lost a feeble struggle with my rollater, [the newly imported name from the US of A for an exercise walker], blood. My blood spilling from yet another break in my, thankfully, very tough skull. next thing I can actually rationalise is the fact that due to a short bout of concussion. I end up in a Central London Accident and Emergency Department of an unknown hospital, when the accident took place a mere five minutes from my home.

Yes! Yes, I do realise the ambulance driver had rules and regulations to go by which took me on a mystery tour over half of North London, in the all consuming quest to discover just what there was wrong with me. For that part I can only acknowledge their efficiency, diligence and adherence to the rule book. Now once again I have egg on my face as my younger son has just rung to say they had taken me to Whipps Cross Hospital. Just goes to show how wrong you can be? Evening all!

New Departure .

New Departure .

Well after so much humming and haring we have finally got ourselves a cleaning lady and what a wonderful tonic she seems to be? very much what we always have wanted. Especially so now that I am crippled with stomach cancer. Though it must be said that things do appear to be getting a good deal better from that aspect of things.

A good many of the aches and pains the old torso has been a martyr to seem to have abated somewhat today. Since I asked her if she would do my bed for me and she appears to have made an excellent job of that chore. Right or wrong I do hope that I can make a significant extension to my lifespan by gentle additions so that I can check any corrections I feel need to be made to my previous notes. Naturally this attitude might easily be construed as an intolerable greed for a longer life-span when I have already enjoyed a considerable extension over that considered the norm.

I trust this will not be the case as I must admit in the past few weeks there does happen to have been a dip in my output of original ideas to larder the pantry with, as a result even I have been thinking that perhaps I need to seed my output with something a little more original or at least refreshing to try and get things moving once again.

Family.

Family.

Have you got a family? Well I suppose we all have one up to a point. After all it may be only a couple who gave you birth, or now only one, or even none, if you are really out on a limb, but it could be a far more happy band ? Only too willing to take exception to what you would like to do, be, or the way you wish it to be? Just had a weekend like that where those who have visited seem to take an exception to most of what you wish to say or do.

Naturally enough it is always a certain hope that a good deal of what the family group wants fom you is what you would also be quite pleased with in your immediate life. It is hard to believe sometimes when I look at the wreak from stomach cancer I am now that fifty odd years ago our family was such a handsome young group swaning around all getting ourselves hitched to the various apples of our eyes.

NHS : Tourists.

NHS : Tourists:

Well my wife wants to watch this latest expose on the BBC, TV !. About the National Health Tourists., so that's just what we will be looking at this evening. We certainly appear the patsies when it comes to paying out twice for our pleasures ? Though today I did see on Yahoo an item mentioning that the Americans go a good deal further by paying out last year [?] $/£:2,300,000 to millionaires in benefits. Well that is certainly a statistic which suggests that the Western civilisation has almost gone back to Greek and Roman times ? When anyone who was not a slave had a great time pontificating on everything and nothing under the sun.

It appears the hunt for the : cheats, twisters, connivers, thieves and general duckers and divers,  in the system goes on? Interesting how the initial miscreants, as my elder son would call them, started with the banking fraternity, and proceeded from there to politicians. First with our own lot, then that bunch of thieves in the Euro Parliament.  Now it would appear the media has got their teeth well an truly into their rather warped approach to the Corinthian Spirit, there is no end to what they are likely or probably might turn up?

Certainly not when they turned up the Murdoch organisation as they are still picking it apart. Naturally enough this had only been a very late in the day spill over from the fall out from the Battle Royal that resulted in the loss of Captain Bob Maxwell, or the bouncing Czech to the spirit of free enterprise, when he disappeared from his palatial yacht.

When I went to discover his name, amazing how quickly we can forget these titans of the world of commerce, my wife remembered almost instantly. She was not watching the NHS Tourists programme at all but the biography of Kenny Everett: In the best possible taste.Trust me to get it all up round my neck. So to bed.

and their spears into pruninghooks:

and their spears into pruninghooks:

Holy Bible : Old Testament.

Isaiah ch. 2. v.4. See also Micah ch.4 v.3. Joel ch.3.v. 10

I imagine this second part of the very popular quotation from the Old Testament is one that is well known and easily recognised. In this case I wanted to split the quotation in order to emphasis its importance to the idea that such a prophacey can and will come true. Once again it is remarkable that the magic figure of three needs to underscore the idea.
http://changeofemfasis/michael.ashiel

These three images above represent. Mike Bayman age about eighteen months. At the top.

Next down is brother Colin a little younger possibly about a year or so.

With the bottom image of Mike's grandson, Lewis at around a year, possibly his first birthday party. 1993.

plowshares,

plowshares,

It is a fact that at the present time the limits on longevity have been set for time immemorial . The usual is general trotted out: no-one evades death or taxes. Well, that is as maybe but a great phalanx of our dear bankers seem to be getting away with more than their fair share.

Michael is Needed.

Michael is Needed.

As it happens to put away the ironing board. At least today I did not have to use it that was left to Sheila and Joyce. Ah, the trials and tribulations of an ex-matelot, as they sometimes don't say in this country. Anyway I have just had a perusal at my stats for the day and happy I am that they are spreading slowly round the globe.

It beats me to wonder why so of theses folks on my home page wish to have 10 million or so followers all in five minutes, to lard-up their egos  I suppose though no doubt their excuse is to make some filthy lucca to give themselves something to live on. Now in my case , though I hate to brag about it, but both my trouble and I managed to collect our revenue from legit sources. Though naturally the tax folks, being the way they are they still try to get their molars into our small slice of the cake. Such of course is life.

Setting Things Straight.

Setting Things Straight.

Today is a very important day for me with my ladies at St. Bartholomew's Hospital in Spitalfields Central London,  to have another assessment of my condition, a rather thin one I have to confess. Nevertheless I have a strong feeling that my condition is slowly getting better, as for the past three or four days I do detect a very slow but steady feeling of greater strength, which I must not rush. I strongly hope I get further assistance from another prescription from the steroid tablets which I have run out of today.

If not when I come home. Harry I hope is on his way down to the hospital.

Never Volunteer for Anything !

Never Volunteer for Anything !

Probably one of the first things any sprog entry into the armed forces has drummed into them by the cynical old sweats is : never volunteer of anything. If you happen to be looking for an almanac of barrack room humour of the more gentle kind an excellent and quick way to tune up on the mind set of many squadies, this might prove to be the route.

Naturally over the years it slowly dawns on most of us there are in the main two ways to come unstuck, not only in military lives and careers but in the nitty-gritty of of ordinary hustle and busy of virtually everything humanity is involved. If you wish to make a name for yourself and don't mind a great deal it's precise inflection then by all means volunteer. If not or in doubt as to where such an action as sticking up your hand to answer the latest conundrum might freak you out. Keep stoom.

For many, many years, the later was my philosophy until one day I found to my dismay and fear that I suddenly dreaded the thought of being exposed as one of those who; did not pull his weight and allowed lesser lights to pull my share of the load. Then it was a question of hiding the talents and abilities I felt already possessed away from the promoters and exploiters as I tried to build the confidence required to construct a substantial platform, to defend myself against the smart Alec's and flash Harry's, who would undoubtedly attempt to flush me out from any shelter I might choose to crawl into in any attempt to promote or defend what they would consider the impossible dream.

Slowly though, as the months and years passed it began to become a fact that new ideas and ways to present these ideas that all humanity, that has been to any degree been educated or tutored to; evaluate, what logic, experience and knowledge will teach them gradually pushed my own empirical experience and wisdom to the forefront of the competing potential solutions to solve the maelstrom of chaos that was rapidly engulfing the planet.

The top image gives the impression that I have just volunteered for something but probably misleading. This image was probably taken in the mid- nineteen nineties I would guess. The middle shot since I retired looking very smug. The baby one just goes to show just what you might grow up to what look like if you don't watch out. Probably taken about 1935/36.

Master Computer.

Master Computer.

Some time ago I read about the Master Computer, in the New Scientist magazine. An interesting tale from the British magazine concerning a computer that would at some time in the near future be powerful enough to run the whole of the human, electrical and mechanical endeavours. From the one single source. The single source would quickly become powerful enough to run  down the various other streams of energy fuelling the master computer.

Naturally enough it soon became evident that the single source of the Master item, which had become the single source, of energy came from a Computer, merely became the dictator of each item created by the human entity. This situation also produced a new dictatorial instrument to govern the material instruments, but also those human pieces required for any further flexibility.

In order to balance the whole machine that was intended to operate and govern an entire working machine for the whole planetary network, named Earth, it was quick to be seen and understood to do so it would require the whole make up and similar approach to that of the Bible. This requires a governing factor, a placebo to maintain a balance, and to speed and enhance the whole, a computer.

These factors then reflect, but do not eradicate, the three elements defined in the Bible; as God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost.

An Alternative Scenario.

An Alternative Scenario.

Many moons ago when I was no bigger than a grasshopper and all the grass around the locality had grown long and shaggy, just like many will think this tale bears a remarkable likeness to, due in the main to efforts being made to win the second World Conflict. My dear old mum took me to see the headmaster at our primary school to discover his idea of my chances in the local examinations coming up for the local grammar school.

His report and manner glowed with confidence and assurance at my chance of success. Certainly he will pass with flying colours that much is certain. Overall in the class he is top, and in most of the necessary and prime subjects solidly in the lead. Really you have no worries as to your son's success. In fact I would say he is definitely one of the brighter and more able lads we have had here for some years.

After such a glowing report and gratifying endorsement of his judgement of my chances. The follow up letter to announce my success, though with the invitation to an interview to complete the offer of  a place in the school quickly following. It all seemed the barely worth the effort of a single doubt. How harsh, and brutal life can appear to be sometimes? With retrospect the scruffy lad who had stood before the interview board must have looked a very unlikely candidate for their preparation schedule, of potential university material.

So to an older hand like my father the ways of the world held many disappointments though few surprises. For the odd moment or two he allowed a brief glimpse of his feelings to show before consoling me. As I have been trying out recently is the idea that, with the circumstantial evidence of my own experience racketed up over sixty or more years there is a convincing alternative scenario, and a much more positive one that I feel can be considered.

On our way through life there are many forks in the road and which choice you take is not always dependant on the free will though many will attempt to seduce us with the idea that this is the case. With so many oddities that have occurred over the years in my erratic voyage of trial, error and discovery it is rather surprising never to have considered this before.

But then perhaps it is possible that I have and might also have come to much the same conclusion as now?
At the time one of the comic strips in the Daily Mirror our usual reading fare in the house were running a strip cartoon with the leading character called Garth who was being brought up away from prying eyes by two eccentric professors , using controversial techniques. Their system in the cartoon soon produced a super man.

Naturally I soon dismissed any romantic idea that my own disappointment was in anyway linked to this odd idea, of social engineering. However over the years the idea in embryo did reappear many times but could usually be fobbed off, until that is forty years ago, when my 'revelation,' put the final nail in its coffin. Though in point of fact in the intervening years the revelation of December 1972, put a vast swath of my previous, rocks of faith and points of reference into limbo in trying to interpret its meaning.

Now reviewing the checked history my career has experienced since the age of ten, and a more sober reflection of events there does seem a more objective possibility to why the answer to an age old conundrum could be unravelled by other than the sword.

For those with Eyes.

For those with Eyes.

For those with eyes to see. As anyone will tell you, if you do not know already though I suspect you may do. The fuller quote is have ears to hear. The message and the messenger are crystal clear. Unfortunately as I have discovered to my cost there is very often a vast difference between what the messenger can even begin to say to clarify their message to those who have no desire or wish, to see or hear.

The curse of the closed mind. Of course to a degree, sometimes an unnerving degree afflicts us all. Fortunately there are always a goodly number of folks around who are willing to challenge the status quo, despite, even in a relatively free wheeling world, of today, which has been illustrated only too starkly with the comments posted on the social sites of Twitter.

A good deal of the misunderstanding has been the rather naive idea promulgated by the young, talented youth who created the medium that something of a virginal nature. If operated by, and with the best of intentions will, can and should be sacrosanct from criticism of anyone, especially the older generation. The older generation which of course, always carries with it a good deal of extraneous baggage.

It is this extraneous baggage, which is there and has to be taken into consideration if one wishes to make valued judgements and maintain a balanced viewpoint. This lesson of the value of experience has in recent years become, to a great degree, devalued due to the great speed of change. This has led to the more impetuous, creative and demanding leaders and innovators of the e-revolution to unbalance the system.

No-one least of all me, decries the enthusiasm, drive and sheer energy of youth, which under the weight of a bank of handicaps felt itself stifled, blocked and stymied then reduced by a fossilized system of promotion and often inferior management, versus the ever bloody minded, often one track issue, union opposition, with their 1984, slogans and mind set,  to await  the tortuous passage of years as their lives were whittled away.

Naturally the result of all this disastrous build up of raw energy has been a complete meltdown of the financial  and economic systems of the global economy. The political leaders either, with no real understanding of the power they weald, or paralysed by the overwhelming irresponsibles they face. The bedrock of the underlying trends that a broad grounding in history would underscore.

Having been jettisoned over a period of thirty years by trendy teaching methods and an ethos of all should have prizes, which merely reflects a basic weakness in a teaching regime and culture and encourages futile discontent and dissatisfaction with everything. From this children emerge from a school, even a university degree course, as a half-baked product, to manage a half-baked system.

The politicians, far too many of the same variety, many without even the tempering effect of some years cut and thrust of the labour market, have in effect polarised and neutered parliament. Too many it must be an embarrassment to observe, stagger about not unlike the young drunks, high on drugs and alcohol, where the age difference is far too narrow to be comfortable to men and women of more years to draw the necessary conclusions. Seeking solace and answers God only knows where. Certainly the time must have come for a massive rethink?

In a phrase. We have experienced, for some years now, a society where the mangy tail of the dog does the wagging for the whole body politic. Much to the disgust of the older more level headed silent majority.

Evolve or Die!

Evolve or Die !

Perhaps the title of the page is posted too starkly but the startling events of the London Olympics 2012, give a good backdrop and think piece to those who might be interested in the possibilities of the next step forward. Naturally with many thousands of others I have been analysing like there is no tomorrow on the results and impact of what we have witnessed in the past two weeks and whether it has any relevance on future events?

The whole issue to me is that the analysis points not to there is no tomorrow, but that there is a vastly different tomorrow opening before the human race. Let us face it, I suspect even the Almighty might consider his creation had run into a brick wall. If he has a Television in His heavenly suite. He must be highly cheesed off with the constant repeats. So it is with much gratitude he appears to support the efforts made by thousands of  New and Old British subjects, to put on a good show this past fortnight.

Naturally everyone does not seem to be entirely satisfied, then again there are always the nit-pickers, sour grapes artists, and mal-contents, but even with these barrel scrapers for justified complaint, an old cynic like me, on occasions, remembers the almost countless times a breakthrough has gone begging because a detail was inflated to crucify the demands of the big picture. No doubt all ye Thomas', will not be satisfied until at least Christmas.

And do not overlook in passing the propaganda artist, who is only paid to cheat, deceive and mislead the poor hard working stiff. I wonder if such creatures who owed their livelihood not to honest, productive toil but a more mischievous aim or ambition in life: the Machiavellian tendency. In the past such creatures had their uses when ; power, confusion , chaos and confusion was sort as a distorted short cut to power and the obscenity of war.

It had been surmised but viewed with highly differing conclusions. What would in fact happen if the limiting parameters of life, and more particularly death, were lifted out of the reckoning? many in the high spheres of power viewing the increasing collapse of the current systems of social development were determined to settle the dispute by employing the answers thrown up by a young middle-aged, common man in the early seventies.

Obviously the essays assumptions were crude, and lacked the sophistication of a University trained mind, as so often this breakthrough was to everyone's advantage as it encouraged a reappraisal of perspective: very much a work in progress. This had remained the case with great profit for all engaged, over the next forty years.

Now the whole picture has been, in a few short weeks vastly changed, as the work of vast numbers, in many disciplines have produced a network of like minded souls, few in fact knowing the width and breath of the Project they had been engaged upon over the four decades of its existence.

Once again the electronic-mechanical computer concept has proved itself a vastly  useful and improving dimension in enhancing the total life existence; value and correction, to the merely decorative and seductive, but so often circular debate.

Terminology.

Terminology.

In the small hours of this morning about two or three o'clock I came up with what I thought might be of interest to those wishing to conjecture on the way forward to a truly united planet Earth. Naturally when you are in the four day of chemotherapy treatment and trying hard to stay with and on an even keel is sometimes a rather difficult exercise. I wonder first if all countries who have lived by the sea for centuries have so many words and phrases in the lexicon, I suspect it is so.

Anyhow we in England have to a degree been fortunate in being in the correct place by good fortune, or the design of the Almighty, and it might be seen a flexible attitude in adapting constantly to new nations input as the language developed.

Consider this if you will?

Consider this if you will?

At this time I am in my sixtieth year of life and have been employed by the company since March. 23-SD.14.
It is my belief that the year stated on the cover of this diary [ 1991 ] has a good deal more significance than would appear. To verify this statement may prove to be very difficult if not impossible, but an idea did occur some years ago that in the March of SD-18, a realignment of the World's significant computers began.

At that time our prefix, on the job records,* at the company changed from the letter K to M on, I believe, the 15 March. This date I am unable to confirm as the record has since been destroyed.

Extract from Master Log of Michael Ashiel, SD: 21-12-14                     * phrase added : July SD 39-8-17.

At this time the question was put to me that we should go over to an all digit number but I argued against it and the letter system with four digits was retained. Each new sequence starts at 4000 and finishes at 9999., with the omision of the 7000, sequence. Currently we are on the P, sequence. All of this may have no relevance to current affarirs but the possiblity remains.

The Knitty, Gritty ?

The Knitty, Gritty ?

Okay. gals and guys to name but a few, let's stop pussy footing around and get back to : once upon a time there was a chap who picked up his pen and wrote a few words and shook up the whole system. Well as it happened the whole system needed a damn good shake up. As you might agree, if of course you have half a brain to exercise with, unfortunately not all are blessed with that much gray matter. Ah, well never mind perhaps, just perhaps we might be able to do something to help them , in the long run?

Well things usually do when folks have been using the same old tired acts over and over again.
Have you noticed  just how puerile they start to get? After a few shakes of the lamb's tail, it all becomes quite revolting then slowly it all gradually degenerates into the genital zone. Otherwise known as the good old lavatorial humour, much loved by our red neck friends and relations.

The trouble is even our jolly old red-neck friends, slowly come to realize there is a flaw in their philosophy, just like Hamlet, as they sink slowly into their self induced alcoholic daze. Fortunately none of us have to go to the lengths of the prince of Denmark, or the prince of anywhere come to that, to unscrew their dilemma, even if they only do have half a brain. The first lesson they need to learn is : to exercise more self-discipline.

In the so called good old days, when me and Methuselah were lads together, the military authorities and other august bodies who thrived in those times always insisted on teaching discipline first, and it was the smart arses who were quickest to learn the lesson of self-discipline. Naturally there there were, believe it or not the odd case which had to be castigated, sometimes well past an inch of their lives, and would have to collect their wings before learning the lesson. Such was the old system.

Of course such a system was abandoned soon after the death of John Wayne.

Schizophrenic ?

Schizophrenic ?

Once upon a time, as Snoopy among many others would have said. A young man in the full flush of his eager and well stimulated manhood found a potential publisher for his story detailing the trials and other vicissitudes of his three fiction boy heroes some ten years previously in the military service of the Royal Navy. He awaited the decision on his manuscript with the explosive impatience only a mid twenties man with wife, son and new mortgage to support can offer.

All too aware of its short comings the rejection when it came supplemented with a short word he needed to look up, too prolix , somehow sealed its fate, and merely underlined what many had stamped well and truly on his psychic over the first two and half decades of his life. Reluctantly but with some resolution he packed away his efforts and turned back to the reality of earning a living in the early sixties, London.

Learning Curve.

Learning Curve.

An extremely pleasing few days with one of my wife's stroke clubs, even if the verbal ride was a little bumpy at times. Once again I need to thank those of my faithful who took the time to follow my offerings, though this weekend is definitely down to easing back the throttle on the old noggin [ head ]. It must be tea time by now? my trouble must be up in bed with her tongue hanging out?
